The Rock Xtreme 850 features tons of storage space and RAM, the latest i7 processor from Intel, and a 1920 x 1080 resolution, all of which combine to make it the ideal laptop for gamers.

There is a reason why gaming laptops are in a different category than the rest. They have more connectivity options, better processors, significantly more storage, and amazing graphics. The Rock Xtreme 850 goes over the top on all these important characteristics, with its multitude of input and output ports, an i7 processor, support for up to 2.25TB of storage, and an 18.4” screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

 Appearance

The Rock Xtreme 850 has a simple, classic look. The sleek black cover is adorned with a basic rock logo and the keyboard is a shiny black and gray. On top of the keyboard, there is a series of small shortcut buttons which are backlit with soft blue light. The vents in the back have a classic, streamlined look as well, and the sides of the laptop have the typical array of ports and drives.

Spectacular Graphics

Rock Xtreme 850 Laptop Review (3)The screen on the Rock Xtreme 850 is so big it’s practically the size of a regular TV. The huge 18.4” screen features Full HD graphics, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 for detailed and clear pictures. The ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card provides a super fast frame rate without any sacrifice to the detail or crispness of the pictures. There are both HDMI and DVI-I output available for the option to connect an external screen, but most gamers will find the graphics on the Xtreme 850 more than meet their needs.

Intel Technology

The Rock Xtreme 850 uses an Intel Core i7 processor which features the latest Intel technology for maximizing computer performance. Intel Hyper-Threading Technology (aka Intel HT Technology) allows multiple threads to run on each core. This means that multiple programs can be open at the same time without any noticeable loss of speed. Intel Turbo Boost Technology works in tandem with the HT technology to increase the speed of the processor whenever it is needed. If the computer demands it, Turbo Boost will speed up the processor so things are always as smooth and efficient as possible.
