Decent battery life, very powerful CPU and GPU, great high-refresh-rate display, 16 gigs of RAM out of the box – all for slightly less than $1100. No matter how you look at it, it’s hard to go wrong with this pick.

So, when you see a quad-core i7 along with a dedicated, mid-range graphics card, you’d generally think that it wouldn’t last more than 2 or 4 hours on battery at most. However, the Lenovo Ideapad turns everything around by offering an average battery life of 7 hours!
Of course, we’d expect that it’s not going to last anywhere nearly as long if you’re gaming or 3D rendering. But, still, that’s an impressive number.
Dell Inspiron 15
The Inspiron 15 offers a little bit of everything without asking for a whole lot of money. So, we’d generally say that it’s a good value for everything that it offers compared to its price.

If there’s one downside then that’s definitely going to be battery life. Most people got anywhere from 2 to 4 hours of average usage with some minor exceptions reaching up to 6. Considering the price of this laptop, we’d expect a bit more in terms of battery life.

We’d personally recommend putting an M.2 SSD for the OS along with a RAM upgrade to make it more reliable. But, at the same time, you could spend that extra money on buying something with more powerful built-in hardware instead. So, pick your poison!
