The Medion Erazer X6819 is, in short, a powerful machine that is available at quite a bargain, although the price tag of £1,200 may seem steep at first. To get the entire picture, it is important to look at the laptop as a whole in what it offers. Looking at the kind of performance delivered by the Erazer, it seems like the only reason for the low price is because there is not MSI, Qosmio, Alienware, or other big brand name attached to it. If there was a big brand name, the price would definitely reach £2,000.
One of the most interesting aspects of the Medion Erazer X6819 is that it does not looking as flashy or stylized as a gaming laptop of its specifications would. While gaming laptops from Asus, Alienware, and even Toshiba come with bold designs and LED lights, the Erazer X6819 looks just like a conventional black laptop with an isolation style full keyboard and a small touchpad.
While the Medion Erazer X6819 fails to impress in terms of first looks, it does surpass every expectation when the lid is opened up. The first thing noticeable is the bright and vivid 15.6-inch screen. It is a non-reflective screen that supports Full HD 1080p resolution visuals at a maximum resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. The pictures rendered are really crisp and bright; in fact, the level of brightness you get from this machine is comparable to higher-end models. The laptop also offers a lot of connectivity options. It throws in a Blu-ray drive, two USB 3.0 ports and two USB 2.0 ports. It also has four jacks for microphones and headphones. All these connectivity options are quite rare in laptops priced at the same level as the Medion Erazer X6819. Of course, you also get the usual options with HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, and eSata ports. For its storage, the Medion Erazer X6819 comes with a 500 GB hard drive and an 80 GB SSD. SSDs are still quite rare, and they are usually used for top-end laptops. However, the Medion Erazer X6819 is fitted with one, and it is one of the few low-cost laptops that offer an SSD.
Other key specifications in the model we reviewed include:

- Hard Drive – 500 GB + 80 GB SSD

- Maximum Resolution: 1920 X 1080 (Full HD)
The Medion Erazer X6819 is fitted with Intel’s powerful quad-core i7 2670QM processor that runs at 2.2 GHz. It is one of the fastest chips offered by Intel, and more than enough for any gaming or high-intensity software running purposes. The laptop also gets a discrete graphics processor with the NVidia GeForce GTX 570M, offering 1.5 GB of dedicated video memory. Of course, memory is not a problem for this laptop at all; it offers a massive 16 GB of RAM. Most laptops come with 4 GB or at most 8 GB of memory, but the Medion Erazer X6819 offers double that amount. This makes a huge difference in the performance of the laptop. It multi-tasks many heavy programs with ease, and starting the system and applications in the laptop is very fast. Once a game starts up, the NVidia graphics card starts showing its magic too. With 1.5 GB of dedicated video memory, the GPU can handle modern games on pretty high detail settings. The 16 GB of memory also makes the Medion Erazer X6819 perfect for video editing and desktop publishing. In other words, the Medion Erazer X6819 offers enough muscle for gamers, high-definition video editors, and for those who appreciate a fast and powerful system.
