ASUS G53JW-IX162V Laptop Review

Packed inside the Asus G53E-IX62V’s sleek black finish is an incredibly powerful Intel Core i7 quad core processor, which can go up to 2.93 GHz in turbo mode. The dedicated graphics card seamlessly integrates smooth and crystal clear 3D images into any game, and the Blu-Ray optical drive, HDMI port, and multitude of USB ports make it easy to connect the laptop to all sorts of external devices.

Appearance

Both the inside and the outside of the Asus G53E-IX162V are covered in a matte black finish, giving the computer a sleek and impressive look. The back of the laptop features two huge exhausts for the fan, which while functional, are not particularly pretty. Then again, no one in their right mind would think of calling this machine “pretty” as it looks exactly like what it is – an intensely powerful beast. The G53E-IX62V weighs in at a solid 2.6 kg, which makes it less than ideal for lugging around but significantly more sturdy, and therefore utterly excellent for extended gaming sessions.

Play in HD 3D

The Asus G53JW-IX62V comes with an integrated 3D graphics system from Nvidia and a set of 3D glasses. The IR emitter, which works to ensure that the glasses and laptop are synced up properly at all times, is built directly into the machine. It can be found to the left of the webcam, right above the bezel. Although it is incredibly easy to make us of the 3D capability directly out of the box, turning the computer back to 2D is not nearly as intuitive. There is no dedicated on/off shortcut button and the control panel must be accessed each time the settings are changed.
